Branson Reynolds has a master's degree in biology, and has also worked professionally in the field of archaeology . These backgrounds, coupled with his passion for photography, eventually led to a career as a photographer, writer, teacher, and guide . For nearly thirty years he has explored, studied, and photographed the wildlife, landscapes, ancient ruins and native people of the southwest, and his work has appeared in numerous calendars, posters, and publications such as Outside, Sierra , Backpacker , Wilderness , Bugle , Wildlife Conservation , Outdoors , Outdoor Life, Time/Life Books , The New York Times and the LA Times . His photography has been exhibited in galleries in Santa Fe , San Francisco , Toronto , and his hometown of Durango , Colorado . His images were featured in Among the Aspens , a 1990 publication by Northland Press, and Cedar Mesa: A Place Where Spirits Dwell, a 2003 publication by the University of Arizona Press .
