HISTORIC DURANGO & SILVERTON
NARROW-GAUGE TRAIN

Designed for the train enthusiast, this trip coincides with the yearly "Photographer's Train", which is a special train that carries photographers from Durango to Silverton and back, stopping at prime locations where photographers disembark, and are provided outstanding photographic opportunities as the train backs up, then steams past them. The fee for this trip includes a ticket on the "Photographer's Train". We will spend another two days at prime shooting locations that are reached from the highway, which offers more outstanding shooting locations which are different than those available when riding the train.

The Durango & Silverton Narrow-Gauge is a historic coal-burning train that began operation in 1882 to carry silver and gold ore from the mines in the San Juan Mountains around Silverton to the smelter in Durango. The train travels through the spectacular Animas River Valley on its way to Silverton, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. Here, old Victorian-style buildings and the old-west flavor of the town offers more photographic opportunities and unique experiences for those who join me on this shoot.
